Proposals

MS State faculty that utilize the services of the LSBI are encouraged to submit their grant proposals through the LSBI.  The advantages of submitting grants through the LSBI are numerous and include the following:

• LSBI Program Manager, Carol Ellington, will help you prepare a compliant proposal and will help you submit your proposal through Sponsored Programs;
• Ms. Ellington is authorized to commit the time of LSBI personnel to your project;
• Qualified LSBI staff will provide you with advice concerning efficient and cost-effective experimental approaches -- this is especially important in light of the fact that biotechnology techniques and instrumentation are advancing at an astronomical rate;
• A portion of the overhead generated by a successful proposal goes to maintenance and improvement of the LSBI;
• The amount of overhead channeled back into your research program can be negotiated up front (before submission) with the LSBI Director.
