Daniel G. Peterson, Associate Director
Daniel G. Peterson (Dan) became LSBI Associate Director in 2009. In addition to this role, Dan is Director of the Mississippi Genome Exploration Laboratory and an Associate Professor in the Department of Plant & Soil Sciences. His areas of expertise include structural and comparative genomics, DNA reassociation kinetics, bioinformatics, and cytogenetics.
Dan was born and raised in Durango, Colorado. His parents, Noel and Virginia, still reside in the Durango area. Dan has two older sisters (Kristin and Karen) and an identical twin brother (Dale).
Dan and his children, Grant and Lindy, reside in Starkville, MS. Dan's primary hobby is music. He plays guitar (electric and acoustic), mandolin, and drums.
