Alpha Innotech AlphaScan
The AlphaScan has 2 lasers that image Cy3- and Cy5-labeled microarray, tissue array, and cell array slides. Scanning resolution ranges from 40 um to 5 um. A broad adjustable focus range (+ 250 um), adjustable laser power and PMT settings provide maximum flexibility for different substrates and signal intensity. LSBI offers three software packages for data analysis. For spot finding and data extraction, we provide AlphaScan Analysis Software and Axon GenePix Pro Software (v.6.0). For normalization, statistical analysis, clustering analysis, and data visualization, the LSBI has Axon Acuity Software (v.4.0).

Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer
The 2100 Bioanalyzer is a microfluidics-based Lab-on-a-Chip for the analysis of RNA and proteins. The Bioanalyzer provides accurate sizing and quantitation information and takes about 45 to 30 minutes to run each set of 10 to 12 samples, depending upon whether you are running protein or RNA, respectively. Currently, we have the following LabChip kits in stock: the RNA 6000 Pico kit (200 - 5000 pg/ul total RNA), the RNA 6000 Nano kit (25-500 ng/ul total RNA), and the Protein 230 kit (14 - 230 kDa).

Nanodrop ND-1000 Spectrophotometer
The Nanodrop ND-1000 is a full-spectrum UV/Vis spectrophotometer that can be used to check concentration of nucleic acids, proteins, and for certain fluorescent dyes, labeling efficiency of hybridization probes and protein conjugates. It requires 1 to 2 ul of sample and takes only seconds to read. There is currently no charge to use the Nanodrop.
